Mechanical Technician

We’re partnering with a leading industrial services and fabrication company in Smithfield, seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician/Fitter to join their team. This is a hands-on role for someone confident in welding and reading plans to bring projects to life.

What’s on offer:

• 💰 $55/hr casual rate

• 🕖 7am–3pm, Monday to Friday (Full-time hours)

• 🔁 Temp to perm opportunity

• 💼 Immediate start available

• 🧰 Optional overtime + occasional Saturdays

• 📍 Smithfield location

Your day-to-day:

• Fabricating parts and equipment using threaders, bandsaws, cutting lines & hydraulic presses

• Welding and building from engineering drawings

• Mechanical fitting duties – including installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of plant and equipment

• Using your initiative to interpret plans and figure out how to fabricate components independently

What we’re looking for:

• Strong fabrication and welding experience

• Able to read and work from detailed plans

• Mechanically minded with practical, problem-solving skills

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade would be ideal, but not essential if you have the right experience
